Best Halloween Events in North Wales 2026

Halloween has remained dormant in the shadows but is now creeping ever closer, with the North Wales region now busy preparing itself for another spell of spooky celebrations, frightening adventures and family-friendly fun.

Whether you are looking for something suitable for younger children, a terrifying night out for thrill-seekers or simply an excuse to get dressed up and enjoy some seasonal entertainment, there are plenty of events taking place across the region. We have rounded up a list of all the best Halloween events in North Wales ahead of the 2026 celebrations, including some fantastic options located within easy reach of a number of our award winning holiday parks.

1. SpookyWood at Greenwood Family Park
Running daily from October 24th until November 1st from 10am until 5:30pm with a last entry at 4pm, SpookyWood at Greenwood Family Park is a brilliant choice for families searching for North Wales Halloween events. Greenwood is about as close as North Wales gets to a fully fledged theme park, with a huge range of rides, attractions and activities making it a great destination for a fun family day out throughout the year.

For Halloween 2026 though, the family adventure park is going all-out with a brand-new pumpkin trail, free pumpkin carving stations and a special Dragon in the Dark ride. The latter adds an extra dose of fear as you take on the attraction while blindfolded, making even familiar rides feel altogether different.

There will also be Forest Theatre shows to enjoy during your visit, giving families plenty to see and do beyond the Halloween activities. With its mixture of thrilling rides, outdoor adventures and seasonal entertainment, SpookyWood is an excellent option for families who want plenty of Halloween fun without things becoming too frightening for younger children.

2. Pumpkin Fest Nights at Manorafon Farm Park
For something that takes place after dark, Pumpkin Fest Nights at Manorafon Farm Park offers one of the most atmospheric Halloween events in North Wales. Taking place on selected dates throughout October from 4:30pm until 9:30pm, with last entries accepted from 7:30pm, this nocturnal pumpkin event is packed with entertainment for all ages.

The illuminated pumpkin patch is one of the visual attractions, while Pumpkin Village provides a lively setting for live music and seasonal entertainment. Visitors can take part in pumpkin carving competitions before watching spectacular fire shows and getting the chance to try their hand at activities such as axe throwing.

There is plenty to keep younger visitors occupied too, including a slime lab, while nobody needs to go hungry thanks to a tempting selection of food and sweet treats. Freshly cooked pizzas, hot dogs, loaded fries and traditional toffee apples are just some of the mouthwatering foods on offer. It is a great choice for families wanting to combine Halloween activities with an evening of food, music and entertainment.

3. Ffear Fforest ScareFest at Zip World
If your idea of Halloween involves genuine fear and plenty of adrenaline, Ffear Fforest ScareFest at Zip World Betws-y-Coed could be the event for you. Running every night from October 8th until November 1st from 7:30pm until 10:30pm, this frightening after-dark experience sees the return of the infamous horde of demonic clowns who have been lurking in the shadows preparing for their chance to terrify another group of thrill seekers.

We must warn that children must be at least 9 years old to attend and everyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, reflecting the genuinely frightening nature of this Halloween event in North Wales.

Alongside the terrifying clowns, there are several adrenaline-fuelled attractions. Cursed Coaster takes you through 700 metres of alpine coaster track in pitch darkness before sending you speeding through another 300 metres, with just your headlight helping to guide the way.

Nightfall offers another serious test of nerve, involving a staggering 100ft drop through trapdoors into the darkness below. Meanwhile, Screamride is one of Europe’s largest swings, taking up to five people 24 metres into the air before someone has to pull the release cord and send the group soaring through the night.

There is also Tree Horrors, where participants navigate treetop obstacles, zip lines, cargo nets and balance beams while the clowns lurk below watching for their chance to grab any poor unsuspecting climbers who lose their grip . This is definitely one of the North Wales Halloween events aimed at those who like their Halloween events to be seriously terrifying rather than merely charming.

4. After Dark at Chirk Castle
Taking place on Saturday October 31st from 6pm until 8pm, After Dark at Chirk Castle near Wrexham offers something rather different. This immersive after-hours experience celebrates Welsh folklore and tradition while adding a distinctly Halloween-inspired atmosphere without the added clowns you’ll find at Zip World.

The event draws inspiration from Calan Gaeaf, traditionally marking the ‘First Day of Winter’ and the beginning of the darker half of the year. According to Welsh tradition, this was a time when the boundary between the world of the living and the spirit world was believed to become far thinner.

As darkness falls, visitors can travel from Home Farm towards the castle, discovering some of Chirk’s most atmospheric spaces along the way. Between 6pm and 8pm, professional performers will bring legendary characters from Welsh folklore to life, including Puck, the White Lady, the Hwch Ddu Gwta and the mischievous shape-shifting fairies.

Atmospheric lighting, immersive soundscapes and unexpected encounters help create an eerie environment unlike any other Halloween event in North Wales. The Courtyard Cafe will also be open throughout the evening serving food and drinks to maintain your energy levels. Halloween fancy dress is strongly encouraged.
