The Best Things to Do Near Abersoch
One of the reasons why Crugan Holiday Park is such a highly sought after location for aspiring holiday home owners is on account of its ideal positioning on the Llyn Peninsula. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you’ll be able to enjoy stunning coastal walks and easy access to some of the best beaches in the country.
This includes the famous seaside town of Abersoch which is just a short drive away from our resort. Attracting holiday makers from across the UK and even the odd celebrity, Abersoch beach is the place to be and be seen with a soft sandy beach, clean waters, a thriving watersports scene and massively underrated shopping district which is one of the region’s true hidden gems. Alternatively, you can head in the opposite direction towards Pwllheli; another popular seaside town where you’ll be able to rollback the years and revive memories of your own childhood by heading to the beach for a paddle and to build a sandcastle or walking along the promenade and into the main town where you can take advantage of the traditional seaside amusement arcades, fish & chip shops and fairground attractions.
It’s not all about the seaside though with North Wales being just as famous for its impressive array of historic attractions. For instance there are countless medieval castles just waiting to be discovered in the Gwynedd region, with Caernarfon, Penrhyn, Harlech and Beaumaris castles all sure to be of interest to history buffs.
All ages are well and truly catered for here with there also being plenty of things to do for families in Gwynedd. Situated just outside Pwllheli is the fantastic Glasfryn Parc where you may find feeling somewhat overwhelmed on account of the massive variety of activities that are available to you. With a thrilling outdoor go-karting circuit, waterpark, fishing lake, archery, indoor ten-pin bowling alley and much more. Alternatively, you can drive a little further to one of the ZipWorld sites in North Wales where you can try out the world’s fastest zipline, bounce below on the world’s only underground trampoline course or take on the UK’s first downhill mountain karting track.
All of these ZipWorld sites are situated within Snowdonia National Park, adding to the area’s reputation as one of the adventure holiday capitals of the UK. Alongside ZipWorld, there’s also of course the option to take on the challenge of hiking to the top of Wales highest mountain. If you want to admire the incredible views at the summit but don’t quite feel ready to make the journey on foot, you can always opt to hope onboard the Snowdon Mountain Railway.
