Top 5 Best Fish & Chips in Rhyl

It wouldn’t be a traditional British day out at the seaside if you weren’t able to indulge yourself with a classic meal of Fish & Chips. Thankfully you will have plenty of options available to you the next time you stay with us at Marine Holiday Park with Rhyl being blessed with some of the best fish & chip shops in the region.

We have taken on the tough task of whittling our list of takeaways and restaurants down to come up with a top 5 best fish & chips in Rhyl that you would be wise to sample during your North Wales break. Without further delay, let us get to number one…

1. The Town Fryer

Placing the Town Fryer down in 2nd on our list may prove slightly controversial, with this very statement underlining the high esteem in which the restaurant is held by members of the local community.

The Town Fryer is situated on Wellington Road in an area which is quite congested with takeaway options. However, it manages to set itself apart with the quality of its traditional chip shop classics which have helped to establish a reputation for excellence.

Takeaway and dine in options are both available, with The Town Fryer really providing an old fashioned, welcoming seaside café ambience. Don’t forget to make your side order of bread & butter!

2. Les & Rita’s Fish Bar

Also located on Wellington Road just a few yards away from The Town Fryer is Les & Rita’s Fish Bar. This is another very traditional fish & chip shop which has been owned by Les and Rita Pidduck since 1968. Both founders are now semi-retired, but they have passed down their winning formula which has helped to ensure that the restaurant remains a firm favourite with locals.

There are plenty of tables if you want to dine in the restaurant, but the long queues that form at the door tell you everything you need to know about your chances of securing your desired seating in addition to providing some evidence about the quality of fish & chips that are on offer.

3. Aslan’s Fish and Chips

Aslan’s is nowhere near as well established as the other fish & chip restaurants we have referenced so far, but it is quickly establishing itself as one of the most popular fast food outlets in the region.

While they do offer an eclectic menu made up of kebabs, burgers, sausages and even wraps, it is the quality of their fish & chips that they are most keen to point out. In fact, they claim to offer some of the “tastiest” fish & chips in the UK.

This really is quite a boast on a topic which is only ever going to come down to personal opinion. Perhaps it is best if we leave you to decide that one for yourself on your next holiday in Rhyl…

4. Tony’s Fish & Chips

Located less than 1 mile away from Marine Holiday Park is Tony’s Fish & Chip shop, another takeaway restaurant where the exterior appearance really does undersell the quality of the meals provided.

Not only is the food top class, but the staff are also incredibly welcoming and accommodating. If you aren’t in the mood for fish & chips, then there is a wide selection of other classics to consider including their home cooked chicken curry which is highly recommended.

5. The Fish & Chip Shop

A slightly newer addition to the Rhyl chip shop scene is the aptly named ‘The Fish & Chip Shop’ on Grange Road less than a mile away from Marine Holiday Park.

Everything about this new takeaway underlines that it is a far more contemporary offering, setting it apart from some of the more traditional fish & chips shops in Rhyl that we’ve already featured on this list. From its modern logo to its menu which takes full account of dietary requirements, with gluten free options available, this is a fish & chip shop designed for the 21st century.

While there isn’t any available seating inside the eatery, the short distance to Marine means you can simply take your meals back to enjoy in the comfort of your accommodation.
