1. The Anglesey Agricultural Show
The Anglesey Agricultural Show, also known as the Anglesey County Show, takes the top spot thanks to its impressive scale and longstanding connection with Welsh farming. First held in 1872, this two day event attracts tens of thousands of tourists from throughout the UK and celebrates the island’s agricultural heritage alongside emerging developments.
Held at the Anglesey Showground in Mona, near Gwalchmai, the show features livestock competitions, equestrian displays, arts & crafts, food & drink stalls, shopping exhibitions and a packed main ring programme. Visitors can admire prize-winning animals, sample incredible locally produced food & drinks, browse trade stands and enjoy fairground attractions. All of which ensures that this Anglesey festival makes for a fun day out for all the family.
However, what really makes this event special is the opportunity to see the farming community’s skills and traditions first hand, all of which is celebrated on a large stage in front of thousands of attendees. 2. Beaumaris Food Festival / Anglesey Summer Festival
Beaumaris has long been associated with food festivals which celebrate local producers, independent traders and also the island’s remarkable culinary heritage. However, for 2026 there was a significant change with the Beaumaris food festival coming together with the separate Menai Food Festival to create a new, larger scale event which celebrates all of this but over a wider area of the island. The first iteration of this new Anglesey Summer Festival, which was held over the weekend of the 1st & 2nd August 2026, has a huge success, creating the template for an even better 2027.
Now held at Parc yr Odyn Farm in Pentraeth, which is a much bigger venue, this new celebration is set to return on the 31st July and 1st August in 2027. You can expect a similar offer made up of over 100 food, drink and craft exhibitors, alongside street food takeaways, bars, live music and family entertainment. Visitors can also browse artisan products, sample tempting dishes, enjoy local drinks and watch cooking demonstrations or even get involved in live workshops. A children’s zone, featuring rides and inflatables, helps to keep the children entertained and well behaved dogs are also permitted to attend the event as long as they are kept on a lead and don’t enter the main food & drink marquee.

Held across two days in November, the event brings farmers, local businesses and families together to celebrate agriculture and get in the spirit ahead of the upcoming festive season.

Family activities include interactive historical experiences, while the main arena hosts demonstrations of Viking equipment in use alongside the aforementioned re-enactments which provide an opportunity to better understand Viking weaponry and defenses.
