Let’s start off with a North Wales food event which first took place back in 2004…

1. Conwy Food Festival – Conwy Quay
The Conwy Food Festival takes our top spot thanks to its picturesque setting and the unique way it celebrates local food and drink. Traditionally held in October, this popular event brings together independent producers, street food vendors and artisan businesses against the spectacular backdrop of the 13th century Conwy Castle at the town’s beautiful marina.

Tourists can browse stalls selling locally produced cheeses, baked goods, preserves and other regional specialities, while gourmet street food provides plenty of tempting options to keep you going as the day unfolds. The festival also celebrates the area’s drinks producers, with local real ale brewers among the most popular attractions. Family entertainment adds to the atmosphere, making this a good option for visitors of different ages.

The festival’s waterfront setting is another major attraction. You can combine your visit with a stroll along Conwy Quay or explore the medieval town walls and historic streets before settling down to enjoy something delicious.

With its combination of local flavours, historic surroundings and family-friendly entertainment, the Conwy Food Festival is an unmissable food festival in North Wales for foodies.

Location: Conwy Quay, Conwy, North Wales, LL32 8BB.

2. Mold Food & Drink Festival – Mold
The Mold Food & Drink Festival is another major event for anyone keen to discover the region’s independent food and drinks scene. Usually held in September of each year, it brings together more than 100 local food, drink and craft producers, creating a lively celebration of Welsh produce and culinary talent.

The festival showcases a broad range of products, ranging from artisan baking and freshly prepared dishes to locally produced alcoholic beverages. Regional names such as Wrexham Lager and Rosie’s Cider are regularly among the most popular attractions, alongside independent bakers and other North Wales food businesses.

There is also plenty to do beyond browsing the stalls. Live chef demonstrations provide inspiration for trying new ingredients and cooking techniques at home or using the self catering facilities in your North Wales holiday home, while free beer, wine and gin tastings options are sure to appeal to those who enjoy the odd tipple. Live music, including tribute bands and local performers, adds to the fun family entertainment vibe, while a dedicated children’s area helps make the festival feel suitable for all ages.

The event takes place each year at New Street Car Park in Mold, within easy reach of the town centre. The 2026 Mold Food & Drink Festival took place on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September, with a Friday evening music event held ahead of the festival on 18th September from 6pm until 10pm. Saturday’s festival ran from 10am to 9pm, with Sunday opening from 10am until 5pm. These times should be a reliable guide as to what to expect from the next iteration of the festival.
