Let’s start off with a little time spent making use of one of the cottage’s most appealing features.

1.Unwind in Your Own Private Hot Tub
After a day exploring the North Wales region, there’s nothing better than slipping into your own private hot tub in the farmhouse’s spacious garden. Surrounded by rolling hills and lush greenery, the outdoor hot tub is the ultimate spot for relaxation.

Here you can ease yourself into the warm, bubbling water with a glass of wine in your hand and soak up the beautiful countryside surroundings which are a perk of staying in our farmhouse accommodation. Whether you’re stargazing late into the evening or enjoying a peaceful morning soak with a cup of coffee, our private hot tub is perfect for those looking to forget about everyday stresses and embrace a more relaxed style of life.

2. Fire Up the Pizza Oven
Our farm cottage at Bryn Defai is the ideal retreat for foodies. Not only can guests make use of the outstanding modern kitchen inside the cottage, but there is also a highly sought after pizza oven available in the private garden, giving you the chance to create fresh, homemade pizzas together as a family.

Gather everyone in the garden, roll out your dough and let your imagination run wild with toppings, from classic margherita to locally sourced Welsh cheeses and cured meats. There’s something special about cooking outdoors with the delicious aroma of wood-fired pizza drifting through the countryside air.

Once your pizzas are ready, you can then choose to dine alfresco, head inside to the lavish dining space or enjoy your meals in front of the TV. You’ll find that you have everything you need for a memorable family meal irrespective of the dining location. .

3. Snuggle Up for a Movie Night
Sometimes the best holiday moments are the simple ones, such as enjoying a cosy night in watching your favourite film together in front of a roaring fire. This image can become a reality when you stay in our luxury farm cottage at Bryn Defaid which has a lounge featuring plush sofas, a log burner fire, stylish decor and a large screen TV which is perfect for movie nights.

After a day of adventure, there’s nothing like dimming the lights, grabbing a bowl of popcorn and settling down under a blanket for a family movie marathon. If you’re visiting during the colder months, the farmhouse’s warm and inviting atmosphere makes these nights in even more magical.

4. Go For a Walk
Of course, no stay in North Wales would be complete without venturing into the great outdoors. The Bryn Defaid Farmhouse is perfectly located for enjoying some of the most beautiful countryside and coastal walks in the region.

There are plenty of trails to suit all fitness levels, from gentle rambles to more challenging hikes with rewarding views. An overriding favourite with families staying in our cottage is the Gwrych Castle walk where you can explore woodland trails surrounding the historic castle which recently came to the attention of the general public having been the filming location for the popular ITV reality TV programme ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!”. This is perfect for those with small children thanks to the unchallenging layout and the backdrop of the castle which is sure to inspire their imaginations.

For something altogether more challenging, you can instead opt to take on the task of climbing to the summit of the largest mountain in North Wales – Snowdonia. There are a variety of routes to choose from here depending on your overall fitness levels and appetite for adventure. The most popular of these is the Llanberis Path which covers a distance of roughly 9 miles (there and back). The views on offer at the summit more than justify the journey.

Another option is to walk along the famous North Wales Coastal Path. There are plenty of parking places available at nearby Colwyn Bay which is an ideal starting point for walks which take in some of the region’s most iconic seaside views.

5. A Traditional Seaside Day Out
While we are on the topic of the North Wales coast, you’ll find that some of the country’s most iconic seaside resorts are within easy driving reach of our farmhouse.

The aforementioned Colwyn Bay is the ideal destination for a traditional family day out at the seaside, with a soft sandy beach, charming cafes, ice cream kiosks and a newly rejuvenated promenade which is amongst the most modern in the country.

Alternatively, you can travel a little further to reach Llandudno. Famously referred to as the ‘Queen of Welsh Resorts’, Llandudno is a must visit seaside town which is home to one of the longest Victorian Piers in the whole of Britain. Alongside this are traditional seaside amusement arcades, quirky souvenir shops and the only remaining cable operated tramway in the country.
